Angelo Rapan

Born in Romania, Angelo is a renowned concert pianist with international acclaim. His musical studies spanned Romania, Spain, Switzerland, and Belgium. After completing his studies at The Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles in Brussels, Belgium, Angelo performed in Europe, the United States, and Asia. He has amassed international credits from the Music Academic of Waterloo, Belgium; Chamber Orchestra "La Camera Lirica" of Waterloo, Belgium; ADEM Quartet and Tango el Sur of Brussels, Belgium; Academy for Performing Arts Hong Kong; American Community Theatre Hong Kong; Musical Theatre Federation Hong Kong; and Hong Kong Singers.

Since arriving in Memphis, his has performed with Harrell Theatre, Theatre Memphis, Memphis Vocal Arts Ensemble, Opera Memphis, and the University of Memphis. As Musical Director in Memphis and abroad, Angelo has directed and conducted such musicals as Beauty and the Beast, Evita, Little Shop of Horrors, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Sound of Music, Ragtime, Crazy for You, Guys and Dolls, Pippin, Sweet Charity, Godspell, Aida, Anything Goes, and West Side Story. Angelo was the recipient of the 2006 - 2007 Ostrander Award for Best Musical Direction for West Side Story and was nominated for the award in 2007 - 2008 for High School Musical 2.
