Kell Christie is Theatre Memphis’ Artistic Director, having previously served that organization as Director of Education and Outreach. An adjunct faculty member at the University of Memphis, Kell holds an M.F.A. in directing and an M.Ed in curriculum and instruction. A recipient of the NEH grant “Shakespeare and the Creative Act,” she serves the Tennessee Arts Commission as a Peer Grant Advisor and is a board member of Tennesseans for the Arts. An actress and director, she has been seen in such plays as A Little Night Music, Hamlet, The Pavilion, A Christmas Carol, Once Upon a Mattress, and Once on this Island, for which she won an Ostrander for best actress. She has directed such productions as Romeo and Juliet, Godspell, Fiddler on the Roof, The Wizard of Oz, and Tintypes (Ostrander award for Best Ensemble).
